CARAVAN SERVICING

Servicing and Maintenance of Caravans has always been one of our main focuses at Absolute Caravan Care & Accessories, with our fully licensed Mechanical Team, you can trust all our work meets Australian Standards.

We have several different types of Services for your Caravan, from a “9 point Safety check” to our Comprehensive “Major Mechanical Service”.

The main areas needing necessary maintenance are:

WHAT'S IN A MAJOR MECHANICAL SERVICE

Major Mechanical Service*

Suggested every 10,000km or 12 monthly periods.

Wheel Bearings:

Remove, clean & inspect for wear or damage, Re-pack & Adjust.*

Brakes:

Inspect shoes, magnets & drums for abnormal wear or cracking.*
Inspect handbrake cable for rust, wear, stretching or fraying.*
Clean out backing plate, Adjust brakes & Adjust handbrake.*
Test electric brakes work.
Test break-away works (if fitted).

Tyres & Rims:

Inspect rims for dents or cracks.
Assess tyres for age, wear & need for balancing.
Check tyre pressure.
Rotate all tyres (spare only if requested)

Corner Stabilizers:

Lubricate, inspect and check for function.

Chassis:

Inspect all steelwork for rust, stress cracks or damage.
Inspect suspension for abnormal wear or moment.
Check all nuts for correct torque settings. Lubricate springs and Pins.
Inspect the jockey wheel for function and lubricate.

12V Travel Lighting:

Inspect all travel lights for function.*

EXTRA ITEMS AVAILABLE TO BE COMPLETED AT THE CUSTOMER'S REQUEST

Additional charges apply, usually 10-30 minutes per item. Conditions do apply

Sealant Assessment: Checks that all the roof fixtures and joints are still intact, windows, doors

and access hatches have adiquate sealant to stop water ingress.

This is mainly a visual check, this assessment is not always guaranteed to find

hard-to-identify areas of failure under fixtures mounted proud of the finished surfaces.

Awning: Inspect for operation, Inspect for wear or damage, Lubricate legs.

HWS: Flush out dirt and build-up, Inspect/Replace Anode if required.

Water Tanks: Treat tanks with Industry Standard Sanitiser & flush.

Plumbing: Check underside for leaks.

Fixed Appliances: Inspect all 12 & 240volt appliances for function, Check RCD.

Interior Lighting: Inspect all interior lights for function.

Interior Furnishings: Inspect all cupboards lock, hinges & stays, Draw runner & locks, hinges, bed struts or gas springs.

Battery assessment: Assess batteries state of health and state of capacity.

* These services do not include any parts or additional labour which may be required to complete the above items.

We also do Scheduled Minor servicing & Scheduled First Services.

As our workshop is MRB licensed this means we can service any brand

of caravan without risking the warranty of your precious investment.

We'll even stamp and fill out your service/warranty booklet for you.
